Wooden Bookshelf and Cabinet

We really have a soft spot for this beautiful cabinet – the wood is magnificent and it was an absolute joy to restore this piece. The open shelves are a little shorter (approx. 20.5cm tall) than those inside the glass cabinet (approx. 23.5cm tall), so if you are indeed planning to store books in it, smaller ones would need to live on the left. The handle of the cabinet door took a knock and broke but as it’s likely the original and quite special, we opted to glue it and put it back, rather than replace it. The cabinet is no doubt quite old and has a couple of scuffs and scratches to the wood. But, as we’ve shined this piece up with loads of love, the finish is satin smooth and very handsome.
