West German "Jasba" and "Scheurich" Pottery Vases
If I'm not mistaken, these are the first West German Pottery vases we've hosted here at The Good Home. They're rather sought after and not all that easy to find in mint condition. The blanket reference to West German pottery includes pottery made in the former West Germany from 1949 and 1989. So these pieces have appreciable history and age to them, not to mention that most West German pottery has a very characteristic look to it - think bold colours and thick or unusual glazes. A number of factories produced these fashionable pieces, but some manufacturers have come to stand out from the rest - Jasba and Scheurich are great examples! The shorter, bright orange Jasba vase is a fabulous piece - both in style and of course, the colour is WOW with some subtle, but handsome shading to the glaze at the ridges. The vase carries the number identifier, 1166-18. This style came in a range of colours, incuding purples and blues, but I'm sold on the orange! The Scheurich vase carries the identifier 242-22, and carries some of the traits that define fat larva with that central band of relatively thick glaze, that has some texture and "drip" to it. Both vases are really special and truthfully, I'm going to be pretty heart-sore to see these move on to another Good Home.
Dimensions
The Jasba vase measures 17.5cm tall x approx. 17cm wide at the widest part; the Scheurich vase measures 22.5cm tall x approx. 11cm wide at the widest part.
