Vintage Swan Planter

I know these swan planters sit somewhere on the kitsch spectrum but I just adore them - as I've said before, we all need a kitsch corner (or two!) in our homes! When I spotted this beauty, I thought it was a Lucia ware piece but it doesn't carry the maker's stamp - rather, it's imprinted with the numbers 31-223 on its base. It's identical in shape and design to other Lucia ware versions I've seen - so either it's an excellent replica, or the base stamp is a lesser known identifier used by Boksburg East Potteries. The swan is in excellent condition for its years and the glaze, a gorgeous brown-orange, has remained vibrant and bright.
