Contemporary "Tala" Cook's Dry Measure
The original "Tala" dry measuring were first made way back in the 1920s in England, and if their website is to be believed, the manufacturing process is much the same now as it was then, and the shape and dimensions of the cups are identical. The idea behind these fantastic dry measures is that you simply pour in whatever you're measuring up to the line on the inside of the cup, and basically you can bypass hauling your kitchen scale out. They've included just about everything one can think of measuring too - desiccated coconut, raisins, lentils, sugar, rice, rolled oats and more! The measures are available in ounces and grams, and there's a handy volume measure plus metric conversion table. This one is a contemporary version (still available on their website) in a handsome navy and cream finish. Given that the design hasn't changed, the cup has that fantastic old-school look to it - so it's as pretty as it is handy, and in great nick too!
Fun fact - the "Tala" name is a hybrid of Taylor and Law, the names of the original founders.
