Vintage Dolls House

I don't think I've ever seen a dolls house like this - it's been built in a decidedly classic and old-school German or Austrian style (Fachwerkhäuser)... in fact you're likely to find the life-size version in a small village somewhere in the northern hemisphere. The house has been beautifully finished with all the details in place. In fact, I've found this piece truly mesmerising. The windows and doors open and close, and the inside has been finished with wall paper where each room has its own lovely and stylish print. The left and right hand sides open (they stay closed with a neat little catch on each side), and so the two-story house is accesible for furniture and small creatures to make a warm abode. But please do note that the roof doesn't come off, and the back is sealed too. As my husband is just building a dolls house for our daughter, I can tell you that this is no small task. Not yet complete, it's taken many weekends of blood, sweat and tears! I can also confirm that my daughter is besotted with her dolls house, and was besotted with this one too (I had to hide it out of sight!). They provide many hours of imaginative play and enjoyment, and are so beautiful too. If my darling husband wasn't building one, I'd have nabbed this amazing miniature house - it's just too special and unique!
