Vintage Villeroy & Boch Oven Dish

I couldn't find much in the way of dating this fun and unusual oven dish from Villeroy & Boch. It's one of the more rare and unusual ranges from what I can tell, and few pieces are available through the regular channels like eBay. The company did produce a fab art deco line way back, also in black and yellow, but this gem is definitely more recent - perhaps of the late 1960s or 1970s. The yellow has some scratches to it, although not obvious, and that fantastic and unusual black outer glaze is in great condition. I also really like the smaller details, like the textured surface and the ribbing around the edge of the dish. While the colour scheme might not be everyone's cup of tea, I reckon this would be a lovely addition to your summer braais and a great spot to serve up some freshly cooked goodies!
