Porcelain "Arcta" Bowl
This German-made mid-century piece was designed for Thomas-Rosenthal by Richard Scharrer. The "Arcta" set comprises all manner of tableware from bowls and servers to plates and coffee cups. The bowl we have on sale is one of the smaller bowls in the series and in fact I don't think it was ever used in the kitchen, but rather as a decorative piece. I think it would make for a gorgeous jewellery box or handsome storage for smalls like hair bands, clips and the like. It's a beautiful piece with the rough textured finish on a relatively simple silhouette - the effect is decidedly easy on the eye! The bowl is in great vintage condition but there is a tiny chip in the glaze near the rim (please see image), which in fact I only noticed when taking the pictures.
Dimensions
Diameter at rim 13.5cm x 9.5cm tall (approx 12.5cm tall with lid)
