Retro Desk

This is a really unique and handsome desk, and rather roomy too which is unusual in retro and mid-century desks. The light oak is beautiful and gives a fresh, light feel to the desk - a feature that's really ideal in smaller spaces and those with a little less light. When we found the desk, it had been severely over-varnished so we cleaned that all off, gently sanded the lot and resealed the wood with a hardy finish. I especially love the dark "knobs" on each corner of the table-top and the brass drawer handles, which I was told were the original ones. They're gorgeous! If that weren't enough, the legs have been crafted to that cool rounded shape. All in, this is one stylish number! The only downside is that there is some damage to the inside panel (on the left of the drawers and beneath the desk) - mysteriously it looks like water damage although how that might have happened is anyone's guess! We sealed that all up but I figured it was worth mentioning (and please see last image).
