Acapulco Style Rockers (R1000 ea.)
Acapulco chairs first became popular in the 50’s in Mexico (legend goes that a visiting Frenchman, overheating in the sun on a typical chair, fashioned a cooler seat based on Mayan hammocks made with open string). Today’s set are no doubt contemporary, but match all the classic features of the Acapulco design with an oval frame and seat constructed with vinyl on metal. I’m quite sure that the rocking version is a relatively new addition to the series and having tested them out, can confirm that Acapulco rockers make superb and comfy addition to any patio or outdoor space. Both chairs are in great condition and very sturdy, but one has a superficial crack on one of the wooden rocking feet (see picture) – none the less, this certainly doesn’t affect the chair or rocking in any way. We gave both sets of wooden legs a light sanding and re-varnish.
Please note that they are priced individually.
