Poole "Desert Song" Serving Dishes
I'm mystified as to why this range of Poole had a short production run of only 2 years or so (1970-72) - we just love the cheerful print and colour palette used for "Desert Song". At any rate, this also makes these pieces a truly special find and I'm pretty chuffed to report that the pieces are in remarkably good condition. The finest piece of the lot is the lidded serving dish with handles (size Medium), and in fact it doesn't look to have been used at all. The largest pot (size Large), also known as a bean pot, has sadly lost its lid, but the pot itself is good as new and in fact, I am charmed to bits by the cool shape. The dish will of course look brilliant on a dinner table, but I'm absolutely sure it could double up as vase for a bunch of gerberas! The littlest bowl (size Small) looks to be the most used of the lot and shows some signs of age and use as the colour has faded slightly, and the lid carries some crazing and a small chip on the inside edge (please see images). These blemishes are not very obvious at all, and in fact I hadn't noticed these until we got home and gave the dishes a clean. We are selling each dish individually, but I really do think that they make a gorgeous set and are bound to add a lot of happy to your meal times!
EDIT!
The fairies found the lid to the large (bean) pot. Hooray!
We are preparing for The Linden Market Christmas Edition, this weekend and will photograph the pot with the lid next week.
