Wedgwood Peter Rabbit 4-Piece Set (R250)

Some of my earliest memories of reading and story books are those of Beatrix Potter, and in particular, the story of naughty little Peter Rabbit stood out for me. Perhaps this is why I adore this Wedgewood set depicting the abbreviated story, along with some beautiful images. The set includes a mug, an egg cup, a bowl and a small plate, each carrying a unique image. The set was in its box when I came across it, and I don’t think it’s ever been used. The box was in a messy state though as it had clearly been wet at some point and was falling apart, so we’ve turfed that out. As for the porcelain pieces, they have remained intact and in very good condition with no chips what-so-ever – but there is some crazing on the egg cup and bowl. There’s also a small scratch on the left-hand image of the teapot on the plate (see image); but, these minor blemishes aside, the set remains absolutely charming.
