Japanese-made Dishes (Each)

There wasn't much to be found out about this pair of "Oven Proof" dishes, both made in Japan. I don't think they were made by the same company, but they do make a perfect pair and match rather well! I'm not normally a fan of platters and dishes that depict animals, but there was something really special about this fish dish - the face has been beautifully crafted and the dish finished with fins and a tail. Some baked fish aside, I think the dish would make a great way to serve up some seafood off the braai, smoked trout, or a pate and crackers. The round dish is far simpler but a real kitchen staple!
