JAJ "Briarwood" Pyrex Ware
James A Jobling (JAJ) took over the Wear Flint Glass Works in 1885 and by 1921, the company had acquired a 50-year patent right to produce Pyrex. They manufactured a host of gorgeous Pyrex designs until 1973 when the license expired (at this time, Corning took ownership and use of the Pyrex name became exclusive). The Briarwood pattern was one of their last designs, and was released in 1972. I absolutely love the retro print and on each of the dishes, these have remained lovely. The set of three matching dishes are in excellent condition with no stains, chips, cracks or crazing. I’m also super excited that I was able to source two lids (on different treasure hunts) – these clear glass lids are the correct ones for the dishes, but sadly a partner for the small oven dish proved elusive! Together, the three make a fab set for oven-to-table use and are great for every day and entertaining.
