Hutschenreuther "Excellenz" Server Ware

The Hutschenreuther brand needs no introduction, and they have certainly made their mark as manufacturers of fine china and porcelain. The platters we have on sale today are from the mid-century "Excellenz" range and are classic white with a great pattern embossed around the edge of each server. The pattern makes me think of pine trees, but I'm quite sure that the pattern was for some added flair on the pure white platters, rather than to depict anything in this instance. The platters are in mint condition and all are a useful size and shape. The oval platter is slightly deeper than the other two and was likely intended for Sunday roasts and such (the rim is absolutely sufficient to contain gravy or sauce). The round platter looks to be a cake server but of course, given it's neutral colour and the sophisticated imprint, it would work just as beautifully for things like mezze or antipasti.
