Enamel Tray

I fell in love with this tray the minute I saw it - I’m a fan colourful things so this pretty tray brings a smile to my dial. I have no idea of its age and as for the origin, the tray is stamped underneath: “Fabrique au Japon”/“Made in Japan” - so if that’s accurate, there you have it. The tray is in pretty neat condition, and although she’s a little battered around the edges (see photos) the printed colours remain clear and bright. The feel of the design reminds me a little of Yamata Enamelware, but this item is stamped C.H. & Co. A long Google search has revealed nothing as to the precise age of the tray, or any other information for that matter. If you’re not too hung up on these details, we have here a very fine, and very cheerful piece of enamelware.
