D.S. Vorster & Co Desk/Dresser

This piece is a local gem, having been made by D.S. Vorster and Co. In its previous home, it was used as a desk, but there are marks on the back from a mirror that would have been attached suggesting it was originally intended as a dressing table. I think it works wonderfully for both - you'd just need to choose a slightly lower set chair, as shown, if you're planning on using this as a work space. The table is mahogany, which has come up beautifully with some TLC, and we've sealed the table in a clear durable finish. The piece is in excellent condition, carries the original brass handles (aren't they great?!), has oodles of storage space, and was beautifully made!
