Caleppio Ware Bowl

I know that I'm not impartial when it comes to Italian homeware (and coffee... and cuisine!), but I'd say it's impossible not to love Italian-design (and South African made in this case) and wondrous mid-century Caleppio Ware. Their wood-look laminate items are too cool for school and they are remarkably light, but also durable and strong - one of the brilliant design features of the range. If Google is to be believed, the black middle layer that you can see on the rim is NOT for decoration (as I thought  because it looks pretty great), but rather designed for keeping hot or cold foods suitably insulated. I'm not too fussed about all that, I just think this is a handsome and good-sized bowl for dishing up any variety of salad, or sitting on a counter-top filled with fruit. The bowl looks to be brand new as it carries the original maker's sticker and it's in immaculate condition.
