Brass Cranes (Pair)

Brass Cranes (Pair)

I've seen ever so slight variations of these fabulous brass cranes - but the shape and stance of the birds is classic and seems to remain unchanged. Some Google research suggests that the cranes are mid-century and as you can see from the sticker that has remained beneath one, they were made in Korea (the omision of south versus north certainly points to their origin in the 1950s). The birds make a beautiful pair with intricate etchings on their wings, slender clean lines for their necks, heads, and legs, and a wonderful textured base for them to stand on. International prices for these are staggering (US$80 and up!) and so the cherry on top is that the set is a steal.
