Bjørn Wiinblad "Romanze" Bonbonnier Dish

Bjørn Wiinblad was an important designer for the iconic Rosenthal porcelain company. His most beloved design, aptly named Romanze (or Romance) was classic Wiinblad with impressive attention to detail in the design and print on the pieces. The small lidded bowl on sale today is a beauty, and it's hard not to appreciate the whimsical blue floral set against the textured imprint on the bowl. The shape of the dish and lid together is pretty unusual too, so all in, this one's a gem in my book. Wiinblad was prolific in his time, and was recognised as a painter, designer and artist in ceramics, silver, bronze, textiles, and graphics. With his works shown across the globe, he produced an impressive portfolio in his lifetime, and while few and far between, some are available locally for us to love and enjoy.
